Due to Ukraine’s diplomatic and legal pressure on Russia to secure the return of Ukrainian children, 1892 children have been brought back home, APA reports.
“UNN” published this information, citing Maksym Maksymov, project leader of the Ukrainian President’s “Bring Kids Back UA” initiative.
According to him, the Ministry of Justice is currently examining more than 20,000 reports concerning missing children, of which 9,221 have already been confirmed.
“Russia does not want to cooperate. Moreover, it systematically obstructs the return of children. That is why they change the children’s names, send them to various remote regions, and issue Russian passports to all of them. All of this complicates the identification, search, and determination of the children’s whereabouts, and consequently, the process of returning them,” Maksymov said.
