"NATO remains the main guarantor of our collective security," said Chancellor of German Olaf Scholz during a joint press statement with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, APA reports.
He said that Germany contributes to NATO, German military forces are serving in Poland and the Baltic region, and at the same time, his country has deployed "Patriot" systems in this region.
"Our 17,000 soldiers are ready for NATO's Rapid Reaction Forces. We actively cooperate with our allies, conduct military exercises. These days, the largest military air exercises were held in Germany, which was the largest-scale exercise in the last ten years. We need to invest more in air defense," the Chancellor stressed.
