There was shooting between the assailants and police men. Witnesses said shooting lasted for 7-8 minutes. Then the care rapidly escaped from the scene. Three police officers and three terrorists have been killed during the attack. Istanbul police was alarmed after the incident. Istanbul Police Chief Celaleddin Cerrah and Governor Muammaer Guler have visited the site. Ambulances approached the Consulate’s building. Nearby roads have been closed and the police surrounded the building.
