Spanish King falls while meeting military leadership

Baku-APA. Spanish King Juan Carlos fell on Thursday morning while he was visiting the seat of the Defence Chief of Staff, local media reported on Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The king stumbled and fell to the ground. Despite this incident the King was able to continue with his agenda.

The incident took place when Juan Carlos tripped over a step and fell to the ground, after having welcomed the military leadership. He suffers bruises in the nose and in the chin.

After the fall, he chaired the meeting of the military leadership without any problems.

The 74-year-old Spanish king had suffered a hip operation last April because he had fallen in Botswana, where he travelled to chase elephants. This travel created a lot of indignation within the Spanish society because the country is facing a serious economic crisis.

The king apologized for the incident, saying that "it will not happen again."
