Baku-APA. One person was killed and another injured when a small, two-seater aircraft crashed near an airfield in southern Denmark on Saturday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The victim was identified as a 37-year-old man from Kolding, southern Denmark, who was flying in a single-engine SF-260 Siai Marchetti aircraft as part of celebrations for his bachelor party, prior to his wedding.
However, the plane crashed shortly after take-off from Skrydstrup Air Base at around 13:00 hours local time (1200 GMT), said Danish news agency Ritzau.
The man and the aircraft’s 42-year-old pilot were seriously injured in the crash, and airlifted by emergency services to a nearby hospital.
However, the man died of his injuries late Saturday afternoon.
Police authorities in southern Denmark told Ritzau the cause of the air crash is still unknown, and that investigations into the accident will soon get underway.
