Baku-APA. Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said Friday that Serbia has a good chance to get a date for the start of European Union (EU) accession negotiations as soon as this year, local media reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
After a series of bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of EU member states, Jeremic said everyone was happy with the fact that Serbia got the candidate status for EU membership.
The existing momentum in the process of European integration should be taken advantage of, said the minister.
On Thursday night, Jeremic attended a working dinner together with foreign ministers of EU member states, candidate countries -- Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey and Iceland -- and Croatia, which has become an acceding country this year.
He noted that Serbia is not a country rich in resources, but its contribution is recognized in its intimate relationship with the Arab countries.
