Baku-APA. A total of 135 Syrian refugees have on Friday entered Turkey through the border village of Bukulmez in Reyhanli town in southern Turkey’s Hatay province, Turkey’s semi- official Anatolia news agency reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Yusuf Guler, vice governor of Reyhanli, said that those Syrian citizens, including children and women, escaped to Turkey due to clashes in Syria.

There are no injured individuals among the 135 Syrians, Guler said, adding that the Syrians will be settled down at the tent camp in Reyhanli.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in January that Turkey was sheltering up to 10,000 Syrian refugees who fled the crisis back home.

Turkey, once a close ally of Syria, has repeatedly called on Damascus to stop violence against civilians and imposed on Syria a series of sanctions including an arms embargo in a protest against its government’s alleged crackdown on opposing forces.
