Baku-APA. Slovakia may receive 14.2 billion euros (19.1 billion U.S. dollars) from the EU funds in the third programming period 2014-20, Minister of Transportation, Construction and Regional Development Jan Figel said on Tuesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Speaking at a press conference following his meeting with European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn on Monday, Figel said that the current budget potentially allocated for Slovakia during the current programming period (2007-13) represents 11 billion euros.

"The current framework of euro funds was based on prices in 2004 ... while the future framework was derived from the prices in 2011," said Figel.

The third package should focus on three priorities, including development of infrastructure, employment and social inclusion, and knowledge-based society.

The current programming period allows Slovakia to draw money until 2015. Out of the overall package of 11 billion euros, Slovakia, which joined the EU on May 1, 2004, has drawn less than 3 billion euros so far.(1 euro = 1.3 U.S. dollars)
