Baku-APA. NATO chief said here on Friday that the alliance will not share any intelligence data to be gathered by its missile defense system with any third countries, APA reports quoting .

"Data are shared within our allies, among our allies. It’s a defensive system to protect the populations of NATO allies," the alliance’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

Rasmussen’s remarks came when he was asked if the intelligence to be gathered by a NATO missile defense system would be shared with Israel.

Turkey hosts a radar system in Kurecik district of the southeastern province of Malatya as part of NATO’s anti-missile project.

Rasmussen said that the allies were highly pleased with Turkey’ s decision to host one of the systems on its territory.

Visiting Ankara on the 60th anniversary of Turkey’s accession to NATO, Rasmussen held discussions with Turkish officials over the agenda of the alliance’s next summit in Chicago.

For his part, Davutoglu said Ankara would not let any third party to use NATO’s facility based in Turkey, adding that " especially if it’s about Israel, our perspective is clear."

Relations between former allies Israel and Turkey soured after Israeli marines boarded a Gaza-bound Turkish vessel in May 2010, which resulted in the death of nine Turks.
