Baku-APA. All American embassy employees in Bosnia are safe after the shooting incident earlier in the day, State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said on Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"We had an incident outside of our embassy this afternoon in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Several bullets struck the outside wall of the embassy building," Nuland said in a regular briefing.

"At least one policeman assigned to protect the embassy was injured. All embassy employees are now safe," she said.

"The embassy was immediately secured. The local police responded. And we were able to restore order," Nuland said, adding that only the wall of the embassy was damaged.

A gunman was wounded and arrested after firing rounds at the U. S. embassy in Sarajevo with automatic weapon on Friday afternoon, police told Bosnian television.
