Necdet Ozel said in his interview to NTV that 250-270 terrorists had been killed, more than 210 terrorists wounded as PKK positions were attacked in the north of Iraq since August 17.
“According to some intelligence data, the terrorist organization had more losses. As a result of the operations, terrorists’ shelters, caves, arsenal, command and observation posts were destroyed. Some terrorist groups were withdrawn to safer places. The number of the terrorists, who fled from the terrorist organization, increased,” he said.

Turkish Armed Forces started large-scale operations in the south-east of the country and north of Iraq after 24 Turkish soldiers were killed by PKK terrorists on August 19. 121 members of the large terrorist group hiding in Kazan valley in Cukurca settlement of Hakkari region, which borders on Iraq, were killed within the past five days. On October 20, infantry entered the north of Iraq, on October 24, at least 35 tanks were deployed. The tanks are moving towards Haftanin camp of PKK in the north of Iraq.
