Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. “Nearly 30% of construction works in STAR Oil Refinery have already been completed”, head of SOCAR Turkey Energy Kenan Yavuz told journalists.
According to him, the Refinery is planned to be launched in 2018: “Nearly $2 bln have been invested in the project so far, of which $300 mln came from foreign credit banks”.
Yavuz said the plant has about 3,000 workers: “By 2017, the number of workers will increase to 10,000”.
He also stressed that SOCAR Turkey Energy has aimed to be the second biggest company of Turkey in 2018, the first biggest industrial company in 2023.
Speaking about TANAP, the head of company noted that the investments in Turkey including TANAP, will exceed $20 bln in 2008-2018: “Investments in Petkim peninsula within the Value-Site project exceeded $10 bln and today, SOCAR Turkey Energy is the biggest foreign investor of Turkey”.
