Ali Babacan said the economic crisis continues to pose a threat to some regions, noting that economic expansion programs should be implemented so as to completely eliminate traces of the crisis.

“There are still serious problems in global economy. Despite attempts for economy to enter the stage of expansion after the financial crisis in 2008, it’s hard to say we have made any considerable achievements. As the G-20 countries we put focus on the stable expansion of the economic systems of the member countries. We demand the countries we cooperate with implement reforms in their economic systems every year and join the summits with new reforms,” said Ali Babacan.

Speaking about the importance of continuous development of infrastructure in the development of economy, Ali Babacan stressed that Turkey has an important place among G-20 countries with the investments it made. The prime minister recalled that well trained people contribute to the development of any country’s economy more than its natural resources. “Turkey has no oil and gas, so we should focus on training qualified professionals. In fact, oil countries first should focus attention to train qualified personnel.  If so, it will be easier to enter the phase of quality in the global economy”, he emphasized.

Since, December 1, 2014, Turkey has led the G20. Turkey has invited Azerbaijan to attend the G20 summit, as part of its chairmanship.
