Azerbaijan slashes exports through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. 3 193 622 million tonnes of oil was pumped abroad through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline during June, down 0.6% from June, said SOCAR.

According to the company, in total 20 935 762 tonnes of oil were exported through this route in January-July.

Since the launch of the BTC pipeline, 91 251 427 million tonnes of Azeri Light crude oil was exported through the pipeline.

Following the final commissioning of new BTC pump stations and facilities in Azerbaijan and Georgia, BTC reached its design capacity of one million barrels of oil a day (approximately 50 million tonnes per year) in mid-2008 and the pipeline’s design capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil a day was achieved in March 2009.

The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25.00%); Chevron (8.90%); StatoilHydro (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); ENI (5.00%); Total (5.00%), Itochu (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ConocoPhillips (2.50%) and Hess (2.36%).
