Azerbaijan launches new supply vessel into the Caspian Sea

APA-Economics reports SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev also joined the event and closely familiarized himself with the vessel.

It was noted at the events that the “Caspian Server” supply vessel built at “Simek” plant of Norway had been provided with the cutting-edge equipments. The vessel’s length is 73.6 m, but the width is 16 m.

Rovnag Abdullayev said SOCAR owned Caspian Oil Fleet jointly with “BYUI Caspian” alliance operated 14 vessels: “The alliance has been operating in Azerbaijan for 10 years. 11 new vessels have been purchased and launched into the Caspian Sea so far. Approximately 300 million USD have been spent for these vessels”, he said.

More than 300 seamen are working in the vessels of the alliance. The alliance plans to bring two vessels more to Baku in May of 2010.
