Minsk Group did utmost to prevent PACE from adopting resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh

Such an action of the Minsk Group makes the Azerbaijani side to think about the purpose of this structure, said Ahmadov.

“If any falsification took place during the counting of votes in PACE in connection with the resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh, it undermines the reputation of one of the most important structures of Europe,” the deputy PM stressed.

PACE’s failure to adopt the resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh does not honor this organization, he added. “PACE confirmed the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, so the demonstration of opposite position can not be considered right,” said Ahmadov.

The draft resolution titled “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan” by Robert Walter was put to the vote as part of the PACE winter session Jan. 26 and it was rejected with 70 deputies having voted in favor, 66 against and 45 abstained.

Ilhan Kesici, MP from Turkish CHP, a member of the Turkish delegation to PACE said he voted in favor of the resolution but his vote was considered abstention.
