The president made the remarks at the conference dedicated to outcomes of the second year of implementation of the “State Program on socio-economic development of districts of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018”.
According to Aliyev, the global economic crisis has deepened and the global economy cannot get out of crisis. “In Davos, I witnessed that the global economic crisis will further continue,” he said.
Azerbaijan has implemented all the projects planned for 2015, the president said. “This is a great success, because clashes are going on in the region, Europe is going through a new crisis and the situation of migrants is becoming worsening. The people who lost their homes and property leave for Europe and their situation there is obvious. The migrant crisis is fortifying the radicalism in Europe,” he added.
President Aliyev said the situation in the world and the region also triggers concern for Azerbaijan which managed to maintain it economic development rate in 2015.
The president said he paid over 20 visits abroad, and leaders of more than 15 foreign countries visited Azerbaijan, which shows worldwide attention and respect to Azerbaijan.
“At the World Economic Forum in Davos, I saw that our country’s policy and progress are greatly respected. Azerbaijan’s relations with other countries and international organizations are based on mutual respect,” the president said, expressing hope for further expansion of Azerbaijan’s relations with international organizations in 2016.
