Details of draft law on suspension of inspections in entrepreneurship revealed

The draft law was submitted by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to the country’s parliament in the order of legislative initiative.

According to the draft law, the inspections shall be suspended for two years starting from November 1.

During this period, there can only be tax audits, as well as inspections specified by relevant executive authorities on the cases that pose a threat to people’s life and health, public safety and economic interests. Those inspections will be conducted by relevant executive authorities in consideration of specified restrictions.

According to the draft law, the provisions of the law don’t apply to inspections carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office to investigate corruption-related crimes.

An entrepreneur can file an appeal to relevant executive authority and prosecuting authorities in connection with the inspections carried out in violation of the provisions of the law.
