Asgarov said that it is a pity that there have been no results so far.
“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov issued statements in Baku and Yerevan. It’s nothing bad if Russia intends to help resolve the problem. However, we wish the problem is solved fundamentally. We wish Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and integrity is ensured in whole Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts,” said Asgarov.
As for Russia putting forward a condition to Azerbaijan’s accession to the Eurasian Union in exchange for a fair settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Asgarov said that no one can put forward a condition to Azerbaijan.
“We have the right to ensure our sovereignty and integrity. This is another issue that which organizations Azerbaijan is going to cooperate with and under what circumstances. If it meets Azerbaijan’s national interests, that issue can also be considered. It is not right to put forward a condition in advance. By the way, I haven’t heard the condition. Rather, some media outlets write about it. However, no one can treat us putting forward conditions,” said the first vice-speaker.
