Ramil Hasan's parliamentary mandate terminated following his election as TÜRKPA secretary-general -UPDATED

At a meeting held today, the Central Election Commission (CEC) discussed the termination of Ramil Hasan’s parliamentary powers, APA reports.

According to CEC Deputy Chairman Rovzat Gasimov, Hasan submitted a request to the commission. In his application, he asked to end his parliamentary mandate after being elected Secretary-General of the Turkic Parliamentary Assembly (TÜRKPA).

The documents were reviewed, and the commission found sufficient grounds to terminate his mandate. The matter was put to a vote and approved.

The meeting of the Central Election Commission has begun, APA reports.

The meeting will discuss the termination of Ramil Hasan’s parliamentary powers and current issues.

Note that on June 12 of this year, Ramil Hasan was elected Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) at the 14th plenary session held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

Ramil Hasan has started performing his duties today.

Recall that before this, the position of TURKPA Secretary General was held by Mehmet Süreyya Er from Türkiye. Ramil Hasan also served as TURKPA Secretary General in 2009–2013.
