“Regarding the processes taking place in Iran, undoubtedly, the relevant state institutions and special services of the Republic of Azerbaijan have sufficient information, and planned activities are being carried out in this direction," said MP Fazil Mustafa at today’s parliamentary session, APA reports.

The MP noted that there is a very important issue here: “How are we preparing society for these possible processes? Today, the whole world is trying to approach potential developments in Iran in a prepared manner. Everyone, from Türkiye to other regional and global actors, is adapting the information environment, the media, and society to possible scenarios.”

The MP believes that the public in Azerbaijan should also be gradually prepared for possible scenarios, and that how society should act—especially on issues such as a potential refugee influx and humanitarian risks—must be explained openly through relevant state institutions: “The whole world is preparing itself for the processes unfolding in Iran. We must prepare the media and society for possible scenarios that may occur. Because the situation is serious, and it cannot be ruled out that the developments could pose a threat to Azerbaijan.”
