Today, the first meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) was held with its new composition, APA reports.
Organizational issues were considered at the meeting – the election of the CEC chairman, deputy chairman, and secretaries.
Mazahir Panahov was re-elected as the CEC chairman. Mazahir Panahov thanked the members of the commission for the trust shown to him.
At the meeting, Rovzat Gasimov was elected deputy chairman of the CEC, while Arifa Mukhtarova and Mikayil Rahimov were elected secretaries of the CEC.
Note that at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis held today, the draft decision “On the election of members and substitute members of the Central Election Commission” was put up for discussion and adopted.
