The date of Eid al-Fitr is highly likely to fall on March 20, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal, the Caucasus Muslims Office said in a response to APA’s inquiry.
“According to the fatwa of the Council of Qazis, it is recommended that 10–15 manats per person be given as fitr zakat. Fitr is a charity of life, and every Muslim who has the means should give fitr zakat for each member of their family and donate it to the needy and families in need. This allows every family to experience the festive spirit. Eid prayers will be performed in all mosques across Azerbaijan. In Baku, the Eid prayer at the Ajdarbay Mosque is scheduled for 08:00, while at the Tazapir Mosque it will be held at 09:00,” the Caucasus Muslims Office said.
