The Social Research Center conducted a public opinion survey among the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to study the public attitude toward the President's performance, the Center told APA.
Purpose and focus of the survey
Within the framework of the survey, several key directions that stood out in the President’s extensive activity chronicle during the first six months of 2025 and held special relevance were selected and evaluated based on public opinion.
Main areas of public support
The survey results showed that the President’s overall performance is highly appreciated. In particular, broad public support was expressed for activities in the fields of the Great Return and reconstruction, foreign policy, military development, and national security.
Assessments in the field of foreign policy
According to the survey, 67.8% of respondents rated the President’s foreign policy activities as very good, and 24.4% as mostly good. Only 1.0% rated the performance as mostly poor, and 0.6% as very poor. Meanwhile, 6.2% of respondents found it difficult to express an opinion on this matter.
The results indicate strong public support for Azerbaijan’s foreign policy course — especially in regional cooperation, geopolitical balancing, and collaboration with international organizations.
Survey methodology
The study was conducted using a quantitative methodology. Multi-stage stratified probability sampling was used to select the sample. The sampling framework was determined according to official statistics concerning respondents’ gender balance, education level, and age distribution.
Number of respondents and survey period
The survey included 1,200 respondents aged 18 and over.
Fieldwork (data collection) was conducted from June 10 to June 18, 2025, using computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI).
Scope and organizational details
The survey covered the following economic regions: Baku, Absheron-Khizi, Mountain Shirvan, Ganja-Dashkasan, Gazakh-Tovuz, Lankaran-Astara, Guba-Khachmaz, Sheki-Zagatala, Karabakh, Central Aran, Mil-Mugan, and Shirvan-Salyan. The Nakhchivan and East Zangazur economic regions were not included. Surveys were conducted in a total of 41 districts and cities, including 7 republican subordination cities and 34 districts.
Before starting fieldwork, interviewers were trained. They ensured anonymity in all interviews and informed respondents that participation was voluntary and that the results would be used solely for research purposes.
Margin of error and reliability
Based on the number of participants, the margin of error for the results is 3% at a 95% confidence interval.
