"To date, 70 pardon Orders have been signed, and 12 Amnesty Acts have been adopted. The one being implemented today is the 13th amnesty act," said Deputy Head of the Penitentiary Service, Justice Major General Orkhan Azizov, during the implementation of the Amnesty Act adopted on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev at Penitentiary Service Institution No. 4 (designated for women) of the Ministry of Justice, APA reports.
He noted that 17,000 individuals fall within the scope of the Amnesty Act: “These measures serve to strengthen the legal system in the country. The current Amnesty Act will be implemented promptly and swiftly by the Ministry of Justice.”
