Ramil Mammadli-APA. “The congress of New Azerbaijan Party will be held after the official start of the elections,†Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov said, APA reports. He said that the main aim of the congress was to officially announce YAP’s candidate in 2008 presidential elections.
“Actually, the party’s candidate is known. But according to the Electoral Code, the party can put forward its nominee after the election starts. That’s why YAP will put forward its nominee in accordance with the legislation,†he said.
