New Azerbaijan Party holds conference on National Salivation Day

Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of YAP Ali Ahmadov addressing the conference said that Heydar Aliyev returned to Baku in 1993 and laid a reliable foundation for Azerbaijanâ€™s development. He underlined that National Salvation Day served as a basis for stability, rapid economic growth and improvement of social welfare of the people.
â€œFirst of all, Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from demagogic authorities. Thatâ€™s why in the forthcoming presidential elections the people will vote for Ilham Aliyev, who is following the way of Heydar Aliyev, and with this say â€œyesâ€ to the way of rapid development,â€ he said.
Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov said that Azerbaijan was on the edge of civil war 15 years ago.
â€œAt that time every citizen was thinking of the countryâ€™s future. The people saw Heydar Aliyev as a way of solution,â€ he said.
Parliamentarian Fattah Heydarov also said that Azerbaijani people should be grateful to Heydar Aliyev for the present development.
MP Nizami Khudiyev noted that newly-established Azerbaijani state faced the danger of collapse because of the incompetent leadership in 1993. He offered to name one of the streets in Baku â€œ15 Juneâ€ or â€œGurtulushâ€.
MP Bakhtiyar Aliyev, deputy chairwoman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Childrenâ€™s Problems Aynur Sofiyeva also addressed the conference.
