Yagub Abbasov: â€œRauf Arifoglu was Rasul Guliyevâ€™s secretary for two years through my agencyâ€

He said it was not correct to attack Musavat, when Rasul Guliyev was not nominated yet and didnâ€™t make clear his position. â€œRasul Guliyev should urge his assistants to stop this undesirable campaign against Musavat. This campaign will not bring benefits to OSP, Rasul Guliyev and Musavat as well. I guess their target shouldnâ€™t be Musavat, but the governmentâ€. Hajili said OSP representatives condemned Musavat in many issues and therefore it is impossible to discuss with them the Rasul Guliyevâ€™s nomination. â€œThey canâ€™t expect support from other organization with such attitudeâ€.
OSP Deputy Chairman Yagub Abbasov told APA, not the expectations of support, but anti-national position of some Musavat members caused confrontation between the parties. â€œWe reviewed the existing situation in 2003 and decided to support Isa Gambarâ€™s nomination. It was reality of that time. Now we donâ€™t need in their support. Last year we held national forum and proposed to keep same position and to develop this forum. However they showed jealous attitude to us and didnâ€™t allow to develop the forum.
There are good and bad people in Musavat Party. They are engaged in implementation of own interests or interests of proper bodies. Activity of Rauf Arifoglu should be publicized. I will do it. Rauf Arifoglu has been Secretary of Rasul Guliyev for two years with my help. This is a fact. I can approve it with materials published in 1997-98â€, he said.
Rauf Arifoglu, Editor-in-Chief of â€œYeni Musavatâ€ newspaper told APA that he followed information provided by Yagub Abbasov to stain his honour.
â€œI have kept several newspapers published his explanations. I hoped that this person would stop. Unfortunately he did not stop. I am obliged to appeal the court on himâ€, he said. He will raise claim on him.
â€œThere are many imprisoned journalists, but there is not any politician in jail. I will initiate to arrest one of the politiciansâ€, he said.
Arifoglu added that he would appeal to the court on mass media, as well as â€œAzadligâ€ and â€œRatingâ€ newspapers provided Abbabsovâ€™s explanations one-sidedly.
