Members of Karabakh Liberation Organization attempting to hold congress not allowed to Berde

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. Berde region police and representatives of the region executive power detained members of Karabakh Liberation Organization, who visited Karabakh to hold the third congress. Chairman of the organization Akif Nagi told APA that the police made the members of the organization and participants leave the place called â€œDord yolâ€. Akif Nagi said member of Karabakh Liberation Organizationâ€™s assembly Shaig Suleymanli was detained by the police in Berde, taken to the place called â€œYevlakh dairesiâ€ and made leave the place. Akif Nagi noted that their travel in the direction of Karabakh was restricted and added that the members of the organization were told to gather in â€œYevlakh dairesiâ€.
â€œBoth the police and the representatives of the region executive power said they would not allow us to Berde. We do not want confrontation. The congress will be possibly held in Yevlkakh. We will hold the congress even in the open air, if necessary,â€ he said.
Aghdam region executive power told APAâ€™s Karabakh bureau that the congress was not allowed as the region is located in the border area and the place to hold the congress is limited.
Karabakh Liberation Organization had planned to hold the third congress in Aghdam. The organization appealed to Aghdam region executive power for holding the congress early in May, but the executive power rejected the appeal.
