Novruz Mammadov: â€œPresident Ilham Aliyevâ€™s official visit to Kiev and his participation in the energy summit assume great importance for Azerbaijanâ€

President Ilham Aliyev scheduled to make official visit to Ukraine in the first half of his visit and to attend the energy summit in Kiev in the second half, Novruz Mammadov, Head of the International Relations Department of the Presidentâ€™s Office told APA. He said both parts of the visit assumed great importance for Azerbaijan.
Press-Service of the Ukrainian President announced the schedule of President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s official visit to Kiev. The presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine will discuss the bilateral useful cooperation in political, economic and trade, as well as cultural fields. The Chapter of the Council of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian presidents is going to be adopted, as well as declaration on friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Ukraine and intergovernmental agreements will also be signed during the visit. The presidents will discuss the actual international issues, including the intensifying of cooperation within GUAM.
Government officials and business people from 30 countries will attend the energy summit in Kiev on May 22-23 to take place on the initiative of Azerbaijani, Ukrainian, Georgian, Lithuanian and Polish presidents. Three main reports will be made in the summit: â€œPreliminary results of technical and economic argumentation of Odessa-Brodi-Plotsk Project and its extension toward the West and East; results of marketing researches of oil products of Ukraine and neighboring countries and Ukrainian proposals on the formations of open energy space in the Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian region.
A number of corporative documents are going to be signed on the first day of the summit. The plenary session of the summit and signing ceremony will take place on May 23. On the same day, the presidents will hold a joint press-conference. Kiev declaration on the principles of global energy security, Concept of Baltic-Black Sea-Caspian energy transit union and the documents about the measures for implementation of Eurasian oil transportation via Odessa-Brodi pipeline were prepared for the signing.
