Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli–APA. Andres Herkel and Eugenia Zhivkova, PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs have met Azerbaijani Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov, the Justice Ministry’s Press Service told APA.
Mammadov has provided information about the development of justice system, coinciding of activity of Penitentiary Service with international standards, improvement of detention facilities, public control, construction of new detention facilities and investigatory isolation wards. The co-rapporteurs stated their awareness about reforms taken in Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of expansion of mutual activity with the Council of Europe.
