Delivering a speech at the last session of the conference, Azerbaijani Minister of Education Misir Mardanov noted that the experts from more than 30 countries had joined the event. Touching upon the importance of elimination of illiteracy, the Minister stated that the major demands of the international union were knowledge, education and science. According to him, the Government of Azerbaijan is carrying out serious reforms in this direction. Speaking of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO, Misir Mardanov noted that the sides intended to closely cooperate in a number of fields in this respect.
