UNESCO to assist Azerbaijan in training specialists in some spheres

Baku. Tamara Grigoryeva-APA. UNESCO Director General KoÃ¯chiro Matsuura, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to participate in Regional Conference in Support of Global Literacy, held a press conference along with Minister of Education Misir Mardanov, APA reports. The Director General said he had first visited Azerbaijan in 2000 and added that there was a great progress within this period. KoÃ¯chiro Matsuura noted that the relations between the organization and Azerbaijan were developing in the field of science, education and culture and said experts would visit Azerbaijan.
Misir Mardanov said they would ask the organizationâ€™s assistance in training specialists in some spheres. The Minister said that the last joint project of Azerbaijan with UNESCO was connected with the establishment of vocational schools. Azerbaijan allocated $50,000, UNESCO 200,000 on this project.
