New chairman appointed to OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights

He will succeed Christian Strohal, who had held this post for five years. Lenarcik will take up his duties on July 1. Term of his tenure is three years. OSCE Chairman-in-office, Foreign Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb congratulated Janes Lenarcik on his new appointment.
Janes Lenarcik was born in Ljubljana in 1967. He had been engaged in OSCE issues for a long time. Janes Lenarcik was head of Slovenia’s Permanent Representation in OSCE in 2003-2006 and Chairman of OSCE Permanent Council in 2005. Janes Lenarcik had also worked in Slovenia’s Permanent Mission to UN and Office of Slovenia’s Prime Minister.
