Baku. Elnur Mammadli-APA. “The draft received by the parliament on amendments and changes to the Electoral Code gives additional reasons to Azadlig bloc to refuse participating in the presidential elections,” chairman of Azerbaijan Poplar Front Party Supreme Assembly Gulamhuseyn Alibayli told APA. He said that none of the demands of the bloc had been taken into consideration, on the contrary there were suppositions that the term of the election campaign would be reduced by two months.
“Actually, this is the restriction of the campaign on the eve of the elections. Principally, there is little time left for the campaign, it will be impossible to go to most places, as the presidential elections cover the entire Azerbaijan, only virtual propaganda will be possible,” he said.
Gulamhuseyn Alibayli said that there was no point in the draft that could attract the bloc to participate in the elections. He said that the situation would be discussed in the bloc again and relevant decision would be made.
“I do not think the decision on boycotting will be changed,” he said.
Gulamhuseyn Alibayli sees no need to hold mass rallies.
