NATO Bucharest Summit agenda has been announced

NATO enlargement, current situation in Afghanistan and widening of peace-keeping mission in this country will be discussed at the summit. Albania, Croatia and Macedonia are expected to be officially invited to join the alliance. NATO leaders will also discuss the US plans for the missile defense system in Poland and Czech Republic, as well as the NATO short-range missile defense in Turkey, Romania and Greece.
US president George W. Bush, Russian president Vladimir Putin, Turkish president Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Rejeb Tayib Erdogan will attend the summit.
Kamil Khasiyev, Azerbaijani representative to NATO said that energy security and conflicts in the South Caucasus in the context of “frozen conflicts” are also expected to be discussed.
