International conference “March 31 1918 –Genocide of Azerbaijanis committed by Armenians� was held today by Azeri-Turk Women Union, APA reports. The chief of the union Tanzila Rustemkhanli said that Turks were massacred in Azerbaijan and Ottoman Empire as a result of anti-Turk and anti-Muslim policy of neighboring states and imperialist forces. She said that Armenian-Russian military forces murdered 150,000 Turks in Khoy, Salmas, Urmiya, Maku and other cities of South Azerbaijan, 155,000 Turks in Irevan, 15,000 in Zengezur, 15,000 in Baku, 7,000 in Shamakhi, and 3,000 in Guba.
Turkey’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Huseyn Avni Garsioglu said that Armenians misrepresent facts. The ambassador called on European and world community to pay attention to this.
He noted that the unity of the nations having the same root can prevent the pressures against Turkic world.
MP Fazail Ibrahimli assessed the socio-political situation in the region during March events.
A documentary film about the genocide committed by Armenian-Russian military forces in February – March in 1918 was demonstrated at the conference. /APA/
