Ilham Aliyev awarded Mikhail Zukov Fund prize

The representatives of the fund spoke of the projects realized in different countries of the world as well as in Azerbaijan. The head of the fund Mikhail Zulov highly appreciated the work in the direction of protection of nature in Azerbaijan. He said while visiting Azerbaijan 30 years ago he was allowed to go only to Gobustan.
â€œThe descriptions on Gobustan rocks show that Azerbaijan has an ancient culture. The Azerbaijani people are very hospitable,â€? he said. Mikhail Zukov highly appreciated the joining of Azerbaijan the international conventions concerning the protection of flora and fauna of the Caspian Sea, the adoption of a number of ecological laws and special ecological program, the establishment of special national parks and preserves. Later the fund-supported film â€œProtected Azerbaijan natureâ€? was demonstrated. After the demonstration of the film Mikhail Zukov gave Ilham Aliyev the highest prize for his activity in the protection of ecology and environment. The President said he was grateful the fund for the prize.
â€œThe latest accounts of European bank for reconstruction and development show that Azerbaijan is a leader in the world for its economic development and GDP. We are proud of it. Azerbaijan is also a leader state for industrial production growth. The industrial production in the country has grown 40%. But the rapid development has negative sides. Any rapid development has a negative influence on ecological situation and environment. The development of industry, creation of new jobs is very important for us, but we should not damage our nature. A special ecological program was adopted for this purpose. The program is very precise and financial sources were found for the realization of it.â€? The President thanked for the prize once more and said he will spend a prize of 15 000 euros for the solution of economic problems. Ilham Aliyev asked the Ecology and Natural Resources Minister to give proposals on the use of these funds. /APA/
