South Azerbaijan National Awaking Movement leader Mahmudali Chohraganli: I am tired of going to Baku
- There is no stagnation in the processes. Every day these organizations held some ceremonies on the violation of the rights of Turkish living in South Azerbaijan. This is an awakening movement and this process is going on. South Azerbaijan Turks’ political ideology recovering and they are being enlightened about it.
- Why do you complaint of countrymen and Diaspora organizations working abroad in your interviews?
- It has several reasons. Today, 600 000 Armenians live in US and in comparison with our countrymen they work with Armenian Organizations. The number of countrymen from South Azerbaijan living in US is 700 000. But they do not help with the organization. They are not interested in national benefit but in their own business. That is why we can not establish well-organized Diaspora. False Kurd state was established in Iraq. This state finances organization of Kurds living in Turkey, Iran and other countries. Azerbaijani and Turkey states are against of struggle for the independence of South Azerbaijan and restore of rights of our countrymen. Besides, wealthy Turks from South Azerbaijan living in foreign countries have relation with Iran.
- Does your resign have any relation of these facts? Or you have more serious factors?
- There was no pressure on me when I resigned from SANAM. Any case I said the reasons of my resign. The first reason is my health. Besides, I could not realize the expectations. South Azeris expected me to help them in the struggle for the independence. But my friends, countrymen did not support me. My resign from leadership does not mean that I stop my political activity.
- Why did you decide to reoccupy your post again?
- SANAN leadership is considered by Central Committee. If the committee is not satisfied with resign your, the application will be rejected. My application was rejected too.
- Do you plan to come to Baku after all happened?
- I would like. But after all happened, I am tired of going to Baku. Azerbaijan does not belong to anybody.
- It is a long time that you work in US. Did you have any relations with the US officials? Were US officials interested in meeting with you within these years?
- Certainly, we had meetings with international organizations and officials regularly. I met with them not as spy but as leader and inform them about the violation of the rights of South Azerbaijanis by Iran regime. The case is that some people talk nonsense about me, but it is not important. The important is that the entire world knows about the violation of rights by Iran regime. /APA/
