An awareness campaign was organized in New York's famous Times Square and other areas on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day of Azerbaijan, State Committee for Work with the Diaspora told APA.
It was noted that during the campaign organized by Azerbaijani-American Youth Association with the support of the Committee, a car with a LED screen drove through the central streets of New York displaying slogans such as “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”, “Azerbaijan is a multicultural country!”, “Azerbaijan is homeland to a number of ethnic and national minorities!” and brief information.
Within the framework of the campaign, attention was also drawn to the problem of landmines in the territories of Azerbaijan, the fact that accurate maps have not been presented so far, and the fact that hundreds of Azerbaijanis have become victims of landmines. Statistical information about the landmines, slogans and calls such as “Mine-free life!”, “From Karabakh to the World: Say NO to mines!”, “Remember Karabakh’s sacrifice: Advocate for a mine-free earth!” were displayed on the Led-screen.
City residents interested in the action were given additional information about Azerbaijan.
