Anniversary of Khojaly tragedy marked in Kazakhstan and Georgia

Astana, Tbilisi – Laman Agayeva, Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. Events on the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy were held in Kazakhstan and Georgia. APA’s Kazakhstan bureau correspondent reports that the representatives of other nations attended the commemorative events in 14 provinces organized by the Azerbaijanis living in the country.
Representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish embassies, Ukrainian, German, Korean, Kyrgyz, Turkmen Diaspora organizations, Astana intellectuals and members of Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Friendship Association participated in the commemorative event organized by Kazakhstan Azerbaijanis Cultural Centers Union and Astana Caspian Society. Films, books and booklets about Khojaly genocide prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation were presented to the participants.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Kazakhstan Latif Gandilov spoke about Armenians’ savageries against Azerbaijanis and Turks.
President of Kazakhstan Azerbaijanis Cultural Centers Union Vidadi Salahov said the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy was marked in all regions, provinces, Sunday schools of Kazakhstan.
APA’s Georgia bureau correspondent reports that event on the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy was held in the Museum named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov in Tbilisi. Senior pupils of Azerbaijani secondary school #73, teachers and guests participated in the event. The participants said the tragedy was written in the history of Azerbaijani people as genocide and noted the importance of commemorating the tragedy not only on the anniversaries but through the year.
