Commemorative events on 17th anniversary of Khojaly massacre held in Switzerland, Australia and Dubai

Baku-APA. Commemorative events were held in several countries in connection with 17th anniversary of Khojaly massacre, State Committee on Affairs with Diaspora told APA that members of Azerbaijani Diaspora met with the speaker of Swiss Parliament on February 22. Nadir Hollendrand , Chairman of Community for Azerbaijan provided information about Khojaly massacre committed by Armenian Armed Forces on February 26,1992. The speaker was informed that death toll as a result of the massacre was 613 civilians, of them 106 women and 63 children, 70 old men. 1000 people became disabled, 1275 were captured and 8 families were killed. The book on Armenian terrorism envisaging bloody tragedies committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis throughout the history was presented to the speaker. 17th anniversary of Khojaly massacre was held in Sydney. Australia-Azerbaijan Turkish Friendship Society, Sydney Turkish Solidarity Society, Sydney Turkish Solidarity Society, Azerbaijan Community, Radio “Voice of Azerbaijan” organized the commemorative events and Azerbaijanis, as well as Turks , Turkmen, Heads of Diasporas of various nations , MPs and representatives of mass media , Azerbaijani students attended the events.
Imameddin Gasimov, Chairman of Australia-Azerbaijan Turkish Friendship Society provided detailed information to the guests about the massacre.
Azerbaijani Community organized a commemorative event on 17th anniversary of Khojaly massacre in Dubai. The event covered capacious information about the massacre, where Azerbaijanis, Turkish, French and Russian societies, Iraqi Turkmen and Arabs participated in. Samir Imanov, Chairman of the Community addressing the event noted that Armenian armed Forces committed the massacre in Khojaly city on February 26, 1992. He provided information to the guests that Azerbaijani Government investigated the case on taking Armenia to International Court of Justice (The Hague).
Photos on the massacre were demonstrated in the event. The books on the tragedy were delivered to the guests. The film made by Heydar Aliyev Foundation was presented to the attendees.
