Azeri parliamentarians meet with Azerbaijanis living in Georgia

Azerbaijani parliamentarians Gultakin Hajibayli, Musa Guliyev, Lala Abbasova, Nasib Nasibli, editor-in-chief of the “Ayna” – “Zerkalo” newspapers Elchin Shikhli, historian Khaleddin Ibrahimli met with the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia. APA’s Georgia bureau reports that the guests from Azerbaijan first visited Heydar Aliyev’s bust. Following this, the delegation had a meeting in Marneuli with the Azerbaijanis from Gardabani, Bolnisi, Dmanisi and other regions. Georgian officials also attended the meeting. The book “The rights of national minorities: International acts and Georgian legislation” was presented in the regional culture house. Addressing the event Gultakin Hajibayli said 2000 copies of the book had been printed. It will be distributed among the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia.
Gultakin Hajibayli told APA’s correspondent that the Azerbaijani delegation would be divided into two groups and concern itself with the problems of the Azerbaijanis and the educational reforms.
“We can help our compatriots to solve these problems by raising their awareness. There are problems, our task is to study, investigate them and inform Georgian government about it,” he said.
Advisors of Georgian President – Mubariz Garayev, Tamara Kintsurashvili, Georgian parliamentarians Irakli Kavtaradze, Georgi Imnadze, Ramin Bayramov attended the events.
