Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. “My absence in Knesset will not negatively impact on the Azerbaijani-Israeli relations”, member of Israeli Knesset (parliament), president of Azerbaijan-Israel International Association Yosef Shagal told APA. He said he was spending all his time for lawmaking activity at the parliament and now after the end of his parliament mission he would dedicate himself fully to the development of Israel-Azerbaijan relations. Shagal said he would work at the parliament until the elections on February 10, 2009 and from March he would work in the new field focusing on the Azerbaijani-Israeli relations. I didn’t leave the party “Israel is Our Home”. Chairman of this party Avigdor Lieberman knows geopolitics well and perfectly understands the strategic role of Azerbaijan and importance of strengthening of relations with this country. Protection of Azerbaijan’s interests and work related to the Israeli-Azerbaijani relations will be strengthened further. Our party has 11 seats in the present parliament and we expected to win more than 15 seats in the new parliament. It means that supporters of relations with Azerbaijan will be increased at the parliament”. The parliamentarian touched upon raise of the false “Armenian genocide” issue at the Knesset again. “Avigdor Lieberman always supported me in the prevention of including this issue in agenda. Therefore I assure you that nothing will change”.
