Conference “Diaspora’s role in the integration of Azerbaijanis into the society they live in” takes place

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. Conference on the theme “Diaspora’s role in the integration of Azerbaijanis into the society they live in” has been held today. APA reports that the conference was organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and “Inam” Pluralism center within the framework of the meeting of Coordination Council of the World Azerbaijanis. Addressing the event President of European Azerbaijanis Congress Natig Agamirov said new stage had begun in the life of Azerbaijani Diaspora. Agamirov said the history of Diaspora covered the recent 15 years and added that at first it was very difficult for Azerbaijani organizations abroad. It was difficult to find the Azerbaijanis living abroad and unite them around the organizations. Agamirov noted that formation of Diaspora organizations had finished and there was a background for lobbying. Mentioning All-Russian Azerbaijanis Congress Natig Agamirov said the activity of the congress was reckoned with in Russia.
“In the recent parliamentary elections in Russia Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov came to the office of the congress,” he said.
Professor Nizameddin Shemsizadeh noted that the ideology of Azerbaijanism served to unite the Diaspora organizations. He said the Solidarity Charter of the World Azerbaijanis also covers the ideology formed by Heydar Aliyev and realized by President Ilham Aliyev.
