Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia Namig Aliyev, member of Azerbaijani Parliament Ganira Pashayeva, Director General of APA Information Agency Vusale Mahirgizi, Customs Attaché of the Embassy Niyazi Zamanov and Head of the Cultural Center of Georgian Azerbaijanis attended the ceremony, APA reports. The center provided with the cutting-edge equipments aims to teach Georgian language too. The new mosque has also been opened in the village. The Cultural Center of Georgian Azerbaijanis held a meeting dedicated to June 15 - the Salvation Day. The first volume of “Anthology of Azerbaijani literature - Borchali” from the series of APA library was presented at the event. Fazil Hasanov spoke about the importance of Salvation Day. Speaking about the activity of his center, he expressed gratitude to APA for its assistance in the publication of the book. He highly appreciated the book and said works of most Azerbaijani intellectuals of Borchali ancestry had been published in the book. Hasanov wished the publication of the second and third volumes of the book and its translation into Georgian. Head of the Azerbaijan-Georgian Friendship Group of Azerbaijani Parliament Ganira Pashayeva spoke about the importance of Salvation Day and economic development and reforms carried out in Azerbaijan after Heydar Aliyev’s return to power in the country. She said President Ilham Aliyev followed the course of Heydar Aliyev. The deputy said problems of the Georgian Azerbaijanis were always in the focus of attention and Heydar Aliyev Foundation made great contribution to their solutions.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Namig Aliyev highly appreciated the opening of computer and English language courses. He said that Heydar Aliyev Foundation would open a teaching center in Dmanisi. The Ambassador noted that such centers would also be opened in other regions of Borchali. Expressing his gratitude to APA for the publication of the book “Anthology of Azerbaijani literature - Borchali”, the Ambassador regarded the publication as an essential service for Georgian Azerbaijanis.
Director General of APA Vusala Mahirgizi addressing the event said that the book would be continuously published. She noted that they planned to publish the book in Georgian.
“We will do our best to help launch website of Georgian Azerbaijanis’ Cultural Center. The book mostly covers folklore of Borchali. The existence of a nation’s folklore means that this nation has an ancient history”, she said.
Chairman of Writers’ Union of Georgian Azerbaijanis Osman Ahmadoghlu highly appreciated the book. He said the establishment of Cultural Center gave new breath to Borchali. Giya Patkhatashvili, who translated the book from Azerbaijani into Georgian, said he did it disinterestedly. Intellectuals from Borchali Ali Abbas, Nizami Mammadzadeh, Rayide Metin, Ali Yuzbashov, Ziyadkhan Ahmadli and Alikhan Yahyaoghlu expressed their gratitude to the Agency for the publication of the book.
