Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas gathers in Berlin

The Azerbaijani State Committee on the Azerbaijanis living abroad told APA, the meeting was organized according to the Baku declaration adopted by the leaders of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora organizations in their 1st Forum held in Baku on March 9, 2007. Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas are determining the main tasks for the development of mutual cooperation, seeking new methods and ways to deliver true information about the history and cultures of our peoples to the international community at the meeting. Nazim Ibrahimov, chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee on the Azerbaijanis living abroad made a report on the â€œRole of Diasporas in the development of relationship between Turkic-speaking countriesâ€. Ali Hasanov, head of the public policy department of the Presidentâ€™s Office, Mahmoud Karimov, president of National Academy of Sciences, parliament members Nizami Jafarov and Ganira Pashayeva , the leader of European Azerbaijani Congress Natiq Agamirov, the president of US Turkish Associations Assembly Nurtan Ural, the chairwoman of the US-Azerbaijani Society Tomris Azeri will address the meeting on the relations, joint activity of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas and its prospects as well. At the end the Coordination Council will elect its co-chairs and adopt the final documents, which include the Berlin Declaration and statement on the 90th anniversary of March 31, 1918 genocide against Azerbaijanis.
Following the meeting members of the Coordination Council will attend the opening of Azerbaijani Year in Germany in the Berlin Concert House.
