Representatives of Israeli-Azerbaijan International Association meet with members of Turkish Society

Israeli-Azerbaijan International Association which was established four months ago is expanding its international relations, APA Israel bureau reports.
The representatives of the Association met with the representatives of Turkish Society which unites Turkish community in Israel. The meeting was held on the initiative of Turkish ambassador to Israel Namig Tan. The chairman of Turkish Society Momo Uzsinay opening the meeting underlined that the organization he is chairing was established 50 years ago and unites 80 thousand people.
“Jews living in Turkey have never faced anti-Semitism and Turkish nation was always in good terms with them,” he said.
The Director General of Israeli-Azerbaijan International Association Lev Spivak called friendship of Azerbaijan and Israeli nations “friendship example”.
He said that 16 thousand Jews have been living in Azerbaijan at present. The vice-president of Israeli-Azerbaijan International Association Alex Shapiro-Suliman said that though they have been living in Israel more than 10-15 years, they never forget culture and traditions of the country where they were born.
“We have the same root, same language and traditions,” he said.
The sides debated the cooperation of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas in Israel, also implementation of joint humanitarian and business projects. /APA/
