Azerbaijan-Israel International Association’s constituent congress to be held in Tel Aviv

Coordination Council’s meeting was held for election of representatives to the congress for coordinating Azerbaijani communities in Rishon Le Zion, Israel. Azerbaijan-Israel International Association will be established on the basis of this congress, APA Israel bureau reports.
Representatives of communities from 16 Israeli cities attended the congress. The representatives were elected to the coordinating congress of Azerbaijani communities, and the participants welcomed the steps taken by Israeli Knesset member Iosif Shagal. Azerbaijan-Israel International Association’s center chief Alex Shapiro said in an interview to the APA’s Israel bureau that the establishment of this congress is the first step in forming Azerbaijani Diaspora in Israel.
“The formation of Diaspora will stimulate the development of political, economical, and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel”, he said.
The delegation led by Nazim Ibrahimov, head of State Committee for Azerbaijanis Living Abroad will attend Azerbaijan-Israel International Association’s constituent meeting scheduled for April 12 in Tel Aviv. /APA/
