Leadership of World Azerbaijanis Congress holds press conference on situation in Iran

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. The leadership of the World Azerbaijanis Congress held a press conference, APA reports. The event was devoted to the results of the presidential elections in Iran. Co-chair of the World Azerbaijanis Congress Sabir Rustamkhanli said serious obstacles were created for foreign media after the elections in Iran.
â€œArtificial democratic atmosphere was created before the elections, but the first protest action revealed the essence of the regime. People in Iran do not want Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be president. Mirhossain Mousavi was supposed to win the elections. But the results caused serious protests,â€ he said.

Rustamkhanli said it was a serious period for Iran after 1979.
â€œThere are demands to hold the election again. Mirhossain Mousavi is reportedly of Turkish origin. But it should be noted that the national movement in Iran does not join the struggle for ruling,â€ he said.
According to the other co-chair of the congress Firudin Pervizniya, even if a man of Turkish origin comes to power in Iran, it will not favor the Turks. The system should be changed in Iran.
â€œOur nation took the right position by not joining the process in Iran,â€ he said.
